Question fréquemment posée
Within Counterpoint, there is a facility which allows you to define part number 'shortcuts'. This is especially useful in fasterners and fittings where there are common industry standard numbers which are associated with unique supplier part numbers.
First step is to set up the shortcut numbers. Here, you add the vendor (Pricebook) for the part, and the shortcut code you would like to use. Then you can add a stocking category/part that will be returned when using this code.
This option is not available in all menus, so please check with us as to it's availability
For example, a 7/16 x 1 National Coarse Hex Cap Screw could be assigned a simple code like 7161NC, even though supplier numbers may be much longer. With the shortcut maintenance, you can assign the 7161NC code to a number of different stocking numbers.
Then, when you want to sell the item, simply use the shortcut key (Shift/F10) in invoicing and search the shortcut code. This will return all available parts matching that shortcut.
From the search screen, you are shown the full product description, current on hand and on order as well as options to sell the product.
