Question fréquemment posée
Overview
Some of the features of autoecat include user specific shopping carts, stock orders and and standing orders. This allows each user to review the products they are looking for and save them for later without worrying about products being submitted without them knowing.
In scenarios where you have multiple different people using autoecat for the same account, it is recommended to set up additional users beyond the standard default account user.
To do this, you will need to know your master autoecat account info and, possibly, your administrator's password.
Adding an Account
Once you have logged into autoecat.com with your master account, you can set up a new user by going into the Utilities drop-down and selecting Change Profile
Here, you may be asked to enter an administrator password. If you do not have this, your sponsor can provide it. If you do not see this menu, your sponsor can activate the feature to you.
Clicking the Change Profile option will take you to the account profile page.
For a master account, the profile maintenance page will have a button at the bottom labelled Add User.
Click this button to add a user
In this screen, you will enter the user info for the new autoecat user. The Username and Password fields (along with their 'confirm' fields) are all required. The username and password can both be 8 characters and must be unique.
There are also a number of preferences you can set by user:
- Always ask Engine Version: The default behavior of autoecat.com is to only ask you to pick an engine platform for an application if the engine platform has a bearing on the parts selected. Changing this option to 'Yes' will always ask you to select an engine platform after Year/Make/Model
- Part Search? This will, optionally, disable the part search
- Part Search Quick Return? This function has been deprecated.
- Part Search Default: This defines what the default action of the FastPart search bar is. For instance, if you type something into the search bar and press enter.
- Multiples View: This sets what part group selection page you see after selecting Year / Make / Model. Either the 'Multiples' search screen with all groups on one page, or the legacy method of selecting a group and then subgroup separately.
- Catalogue Compressed View: The catalogue compressed view will cause the initial display of products to be compressed down, with only the product headings showing. From there, each product type can be expanded individually. This can be useful if you find you are frequently looking up many different product types.
- Sort Parts by Position? You can either sort the part listings by position or vendor/part number
Once complete, click the save button and you will be presented with the same screen and the new user info filled in to confirm it has been created.
You can then click the Cancel & Exit button to exit or begin with adding another account.
Maintaining an Account
User accounts can be maintained one of two ways. Either via the master account, or via the user account itself.

Clicking the Change Profile option will take you to the account profile page.
