Frequently Asked Question
Overview
One of the newer account types on Nexpart is their 'Multi-Seller' account. This is an account where the customer actually requests access from the Jobber. In these cases, this also means that they fill in some of the necessary info.
This type of account also removes some of the redundant setup like usernames and passwords, as these can be assigned in the background.
Account Setup
When you log in, you may see a message like this:
Here, you can click 'View Pending Customers' and view all of the accounts that have requested access to your system, as well as all currently set up accounts.
Once in the customer listing page, click the 'activate' link next to any customer under the following heading.
This will bring you into the basic setup page.
The first field, under 'Template Customer' allows you to search up a template account to base this user off of. If you haven't yet set up a template, review the 'Template' section of this document. If you have set up a template account, enter a part of the name into the 'Name' field, and click 'Search'
You should see a listing of matching templates. Click the radio box next to the template you wish to use.
Next, fill in the user's account number
Once that is complete, click the 'Activate' button.
Once activated, you will be brought to the primary customer account screen with most of the information filled in. If their multi-seller request was made from a shop system, their username/password may already be set up. If not, you can set that up now.
Click the 'add new' link under the 'Users' section and you come to the stage of adding the user credentials for this customer. Usually, there should be some sort of a prefix set up to try and ensure that the users are all unique. This prefix is a default placeholder and can be modified. The key is just that the username needs to be unique.
Once you have set the user up, you will be shown a summary screen where you can click the Confirm Add Customer button.
Once the customer has been confirmed as added, you will be asked to set up a password. The password requirements must be followed, and pasting a password is not allowed on this screen.
Once the password is accepted and you click the Save button, you will be asked for that catalogue they should use
The default value here should always be OK. Press submit, and you are done. You will be redirected to the customer maintenance screen for the new customer.
From here, send the customer the username and password that you set up for them. If they are using Nexpart in an integrated method with their shop system, they should only need to enter those credentials in their shop system and be set. If they are going to use it via the website, they just need to browse to https://www.nexpart.com and sign in.
Templates
If this is your first time reviewing or setting up a multi-seller account, then you should set up some templates in order to streamline the process moving forward. Typically you will have a template per location.
Once you are in the multi-seller setup screen, there is a 'Create New Template' link`. Click this and you will be brought to the setup page
here, fill in the Template Name (something you can search on in the multi-seller setup page), and maybe the country. These are just default values, and seeing as most customer requests will include the other fields, you will not need to set that up.
Next, you are brought to the listing of your branches and the order in which they should appear. This is why it is best to at least have one template per location, so that this can be unique by location. The order of these branches is how any customer based off this template will be set up
Typically, you would also change all branches other than your primary to 'View only' so that all orders are placed in the customer's ordering branch
Click 'next step' and you will be brought to the 'Customer Options' screen
Fill in these options as you see fit, noting that the Default branch should match the #1 branch from the branch settings (the customer's primary ordering branch)
Click 'Next Step' and you will come to the user setup stage
Enter in a unique prefix for the user and a status (most likely active) for all users of this template to have. The first and last names will be filled in by the multi-seller, so no default is needed
Once you click 'Next Step', the final page is a confirmation to add the template.
Click the 'Confirm Add Customer' button at the bottom and the new template user will be set up. Now, during your next multi-seller account setup, this new template will be searchable.
